AOAI is the African science olympiad in Artificial Intelligence for high-school students, operating under the aegis of the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI).

As the Regional Olympiad of the IOAI for Africa, AOAI supports National AI Olympiads across the continent and builds a growing network of organizations and individuals advancing Artificial Intelligence education. We bring together the most talented young minds in Africa to learn, compete, and represent their countries on the global AI stage.

Aligned with the IOAI GAITE initiative, we empower countries with limited olympiad history to join on an equal footing.
Host the Continental Olympiad
We organize the annual African Olympiad in AI — the flagship event that celebrates the continent’s brightest students.

Our Scientific Committee designs competition frameworks and evaluation criteria rooted in fairness and academic integrity.
Advocate for AI Education
We champion access to AI learning for African youth and partner with global institutions to make it a reality.

Bring Your Country to AOAI
Organizations wishing to represent their country at the African Olympiad in AI complete the accreditation process through the IOAI.
