We are pleased to announce that Tunisia will host the African Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (AOAI) 2026.

In line with AOAI’s commitment to academic excellence, the Board launched a call for host country nominations. Several African countries submitted expressions of interest, demonstrating a strong and growing commitment across the continent to advancing Artificial Intelligence education and scientific excellence.

Following a comprehensive review of the submitted proposals, interviews with candidate countries, and careful consideration of recommendations from the Scientific Committee and the Elections Committee, the AOAI Board has confirmed Tunisia as the host country for the 2026 edition of the African Olympiads of Artificial Intelligence.

Tunisia will now begin preparations, in close coordination with the AOAI governance bodies, to deliver a high-quality, academically rigorous, and impactful continental Olympiad.

The call for host country nominations for AOAI 2027 will be reopened in January.
Detailed guidelines, eligibility criteria, and timelines will be published on the AOAI website in due course.
